Students will learn to identify the plant in the wild using (always use at least four sources!) and harvest and dry the plant. Students will learn the history of its use, its ecological function in the landscape, and why we prefer to use a whole plant extract. Students will learn to extract the medicinal compounds using both water and alcohol and then to concentrate it into a useable form. Students will learn how to find their lowest effective dose, how to take the extract, and how to store the extract.
